The path of the embryo is through the fallopian tubes however with ectopic pregnancy the fertilized egg will attach itself to the fallopian tube and will grow and develop there. The problem is that the fallopian tube is not the right environment for an embryo to grow as it does not have the capacity to grow as the embryo grows thus the result is that the fallopian tube will rupture.
